Factory planning for water bottling projects
Start the plant in controlled layers
Commissioning connects installed equipment, utilities, materials, operators and quality checks through a staged test and correction process.
01
Do not introduce product before the mechanical, electrical and utility foundations are ready.
Position, level, assemble, connect and inspect the equipment against the approved project documents.
Verify isolation, guards, rotation, services, drainage and agreed environmental conditions.
Confirm approved bottles, caps, labels, packs, product inputs, sampling and test methods.
Name who operates, observes, adjusts, records, approves and owns each open action.
02
Each stage creates evidence before the next one adds complexity.
| Stage | Main purpose | Example evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Machine checks | Manual functions, sensors, alarms, directions and safe movement | Machine-level checklist |
| Dry integrated run | Transfers, interlocks, accumulation and stop/restart | Issue and correction log |
| Water or product trial | Process, filling, closure, labels, packs and quality checks | Trial records and samples |
| Ramp-up | Longer operation under agreed conditions | Downtime and performance record |
| Handover | Training, documents, spares and open actions | Signed handover pack |
03
A controlled ramp-up separates machine, material, utility, operation and interface causes.
Time, condition, machine state, material, alarm and observed symptom.
Equipment, utility, bottle/cap/label, process, operator, upstream/downstream or unknown.
Record the action and repeat the relevant test rather than relying on an informal judgment.
Unresolved actions need an owner, target date, operating restriction and closure evidence.
Buyer questions
It depends on scope, readiness, materials, utilities, issue correction and the acceptance plan. A universal duration would be misleading.
Some upstream functions can be tested, but full line balance and finished-pack acceptance require the agreed materials.
They are related but not automatically identical. The contract should define acceptance stages, evidence and treatment of open items.
