Physical point
Identify the exact nozzle, terminal, panel, support, drain, duct or room boundary.
Factory planning for water bottling projects
Turn buyer-side work into bid-ready packages
Local works connect the supplied machinery to the real building and utilities. Break the work into controlled packages with drawings, quantities, battery limits, access, safety, inspections, tests, dates and handover records so an excluded connection does not appear only after equipment arrives.
Answer first
Break civil, drainage, piping, electrical, ventilation, lifting and installation support into bid-ready work packages with exact battery limits, drawings, quantities, assumptions, tests, dates, safety controls and as-built handover records.

01
List every permanent and temporary task outside the selected equipment supply. Assign one owner for design, procurement, construction, inspection and final connection, even when several contractors contribute.
| Work package | Typical boundary | Required closeout |
|---|---|---|
| Civil and structural | Floors, foundations, platforms, openings, roads, supports and repairs | Approved drawings, inspections and as-built condition |
| Water and drainage | Source connections, treatment feeds, product services, drains and wastewater | Pressure, cleanliness, flow and route verification |
| Electrical and controls | Incoming service, panels, cables, trays, grounding, lighting and signals | Tests, labels, settings and controlled drawings |
| Air, cooling and ventilation | Generation, storage, distribution, exhaust and room conditions | Quality, capacity, balance and functional checks |
| Logistics and installation support | Unloading, storage, lifting, positioning, scaffolds, labor and temporary services | Safe completion and equipment condition records |
02
A responsibility matrix names the party; the local-works scope must show the physical point. Record coordinates or equipment tag, size, material, quantity and quality, direction, signal, flange or terminal standard, isolation, drain, access and who makes and tests the final connection.
Identify the exact nozzle, terminal, panel, support, drain, duct or room boundary.
State pressure, flow, voltage, quality, cleanliness, temperature or other relevant operating basis.
Separate supply, installation, consumables, testing, energization and acceptance.
Tie readiness to equipment delivery, setting, dry checks, wet testing and product trials.
03
Give contractors the same current drawings, site survey, equipment data and access conditions. Require a priced schedule of quantities, exclusions, temporary work, testing, permits, supervision, material standards, schedule and validity.
| Tender item | Contractor response | Comparison check |
|---|---|---|
| Scope and quantity | Measured or clearly provisional quantity with drawing reference | Identify omissions and duplicated work |
| Material and workmanship | Specified basis, submittals and inspection route | Confirm compatibility and local approval |
| Temporary work | Power, water, access, lifting, protection, storage and cleanup | Assign cost and removal responsibility |
| Testing and records | Method, instruments, witness, acceptance and document format | Link payment to usable evidence |
| Exceptions | Numbered departure and consequence | Close before award or retain as a controlled risk |
04
Coordinate foundations, openings, underground services, drains, main utility routes, clean-area completion, unloading, equipment setting, branch connections, flushing, cleaning, energization and integrated tests. Protect completed work and open product areas from later dusty or uncontrolled construction.
Complete surveyed routes, supports, bases, major services, secure storage and safe unloading access.
Control lifting, location, level, anchors, damage inspection and released work fronts.
Verify service condition, isolation, cleanliness, labels, pressure or electrical tests and final battery limits.
Close drains, leaks, cleaning, water quality, safe work, ventilation and temporary-material removal.
05
Define inspection and test plans before work starts. Record hold and witness points, material or equipment identification, hidden-work inspections, pressure and electrical tests, flushing and cleanliness, balance results, deviations, repairs and retests.
| Evidence type | What it should identify | Handover use |
|---|---|---|
| Inspection record | Location, drawing, item, status, date, reviewer and photographs where useful | Demonstrates the installed condition |
| Test result | Method, instrument, range, raw readings, acceptance and deviations | Supports energization and integrated testing |
| As-built information | Actual route, size, material, tag, isolation and connection | Supports operation, maintenance and future change |
| Open-action register | Owner, consequence, temporary control, due date and closure evidence | Prevents incomplete work disappearing at handover |
06
Local contractors must work within the site safety and permit system and the qualified local design. Use written change control when equipment, route, material, load or connection data changes; then update affected drawings, tests, cost, schedule and operating documents.
Assign induction, isolation, lifting, work-at-height, hot work, confined-space or other applicable controls to competent parties.
Record reason, technical review, approval, cost, schedule and affected validation or acceptance.
Collect approved as-builts, certificates where applicable, tests, settings, warranties, manuals and open actions.
Hand the work to the responsible operating and maintenance teams with system status and restrictions visible.

These primary sources support risk-based planning and controlled project review. They do not provide a project price, approve a site or replace current requirements and qualified local decisions.
Buyer questions
The exact boundary is project-specific. Common packages include building adaptations, foundations, drains, local piping, electrical distribution, air and cooling distribution, ventilation, access, lifting, installation support, permits, tests and as-built records.
Do not assume it is. Convert the turnkey wording into a line-by-line scope, responsibility and interface register that states who designs, supplies, installs, pays, tests and accepts each item.
Early enough to review the real equipment, site and utility data and meet the required readiness dates. Avoid construction release from unapproved preliminary loads or layouts.
Use approved installation records, as-built drawings, utility and safety tests, cleanliness or flushing evidence, closed critical deviations and a signed readiness review for the intended test stage.
Move this project question forward
Give contractors the same current drawings, site survey, equipment data and access conditions. Require a priced schedule of quantities, exclusions, temporary work, testing, permits, supervision, material standards, schedule and validity.
Not sure which data matters? Send what you have and state the decision you need to make.
Send target capacity and SKUs, source-water report, site utility schedule, building layout and required project milestones.
The project desk can identify missing inputs and a practical next step. Final engineering, configuration, compliance and commercial terms remain project-specific.
